Bulk Storage
PCWorld recently selected the Apricorn 1.5TB Aegis Desktop ADT-1500 as the Best Buy among its “Top Ten” external hard drives. The suggested retail price for this relatively small and lightweight unit is $200, which equates to only $0.13 per gigabyte of storage. It could replace a vast number of floppy discs and CDs to create more physical storage space. Further, it would provide the convenience of much quicker access to older records, financial statements, orders, receipts, correspondence, spreadsheets and projections as contrasted with hunting for them in boxes of floppy discs and CDs. Finally, an external hard drive provides instant portability of vast quantities of data to and from meetings and presentations as well as providing easy off-site storage of critical data.

Dumb is the New Smart
Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia Business School, Seth Freeman, maintains that is often advisable to ask what could be called a “dumb question”. He suggests that “‘Dumb’ is the new smart. A healthy willingness in business, finance, investing and regulation to say, ‘I don't understand,’ to stop fooling ourselves and to ask dumb questions, could be as crucial to a bright future as anything else.” In other words, put the proponent of a proposition on the defensive, but do it obliquely. It works.
