Hurricane Preparation
Hurricane Season officially begins June 1st and continues through September. In an effort to help alleviate expenses on hurricane supplies, Governor Jeb Bush signed into law a sales tax holiday. Floridians will receive 12-day break from sales tax on many items on items such as flashlights, radios, and batteries to be ready for what some expect to be a busy storm season. The new law also provides an incentive to buy bigger hurricane preparedness items, such as generators up to a thousand dollars, and window protection up to two hundred dollars. Plywood is not covered by the tax break. The bill was rushed through the legislative session with hopes of getting it into law in time for retailers to stock up to get ready for the break, which will run from May 21 to June 1, the first day of hurricane season.

Have you prepared your business for the Hurricane Season? Do you have a business contingency plan?
