RFID Tracking
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags or labels have been well received at the wholesale level, but have yet to make the impact on retail business that many had anticipated.
According to a recent InformationWeek article, only 9% of retailers have a plan for implementing RFID tracking.
Rather, "Nonretail companies are the ones building a solid business case for item-level RFID.
It's finding a place at companies that need to track expensive products and equipment and within the pharmaceutical industry,
where RFID is helping fight a $30 billion-a-year counterfeiting problem."
