More Battery Woes
Toshiba recently announced a recall of approximately 340,000 laptop computer
batteries manufactured by Sony. As were the approximately 6 million batteries
Dell and Apple recalled in August, the lithium-ion batteries recalled by Toshiba
were manufactured by Sony Energy Devices Corp. The fault with the batteries recalled by
Toshiba is not that they presented a risk of fire,
which was the reason for the Dell recall.
