For SAP Business One users still running their installation on SQL 2000, this means no new functionality or Service Packs. Microsoft will continue to provide bug fixes and security fixes on demand only. We therefore recommend that customers upgrade their SQL installation to 2005 as soon as possible. How to order the SQL Server 2005 DVD for upgrade purposes ?
Customers/partners need a valid SQL Server 2005 license acquired from SAP as well as a valid maintenance contract before they can order the SQL 2005 DVD from SAP.
- If you have purchased your SQL Server license from SAP, you are entitled to upgrade your SAP Business One system to SQL 2005. The upgrade is free-of-charge as part of the underlying maintenance contract.
- If you have purchased your SQL Server license from any other reseller or from Microsoft® Corp., you will need to contact your vendor to upgrade your license before you may install the new database release. In this case, you cannot order the SQL 2005 DVD from SAP.
- SAP Business One supports the SQL Enterprise, Standard and Workgroup Edition (the latter one is only supported with the Windows Small Business Server 2003) as database backend for the SAP Business One releases.
