Search Engine Marketing Growth
The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (“SEMPO”) announced that search engine marketing (“SEM”) revenue in North America grew from $9.4 billion in 2006 to $12.2 billion in 2007, which is almost a 30 percent increase over 2006 SEM revenue. Further, according to SEMPO, “SEM spending is now projected to grow to $25.2 billion in 2011, up significantly from the $18.6 billion forecast a year ago.”
